Community SAFE offers three tailored programs:
Frontline SAFE
High-pressure care settings demand calm, clear decision-making. Build awareness & understanding, de-escalation tactics, how to use your environment to keep you safe and lawful breakaway solutions to keep your workers safe from harm.
The Frontline SAFE program teaches the following important self-protection principles & skills:
- Reading stress responses and triggers in care contexts
- Language that supports dignity and reduces intensity
- Team roles and safe positioning on wards/in visits
- When to disengage and involve colleagues/authorities
- Proportionate, lawful options aligned to policy
Run SAFE
The Run SAFE program teaches the following important self-protection principles & skills:
- Techniques to enhance personal safety
- Identification of common threats and rapid recognition skills
- Strategies for coping with fear and reducing the 'freeze' response
- Communication skills for de-escalation
- Use of effective body language and deterrent behavior
- Practical techniques for escaping to safety
Uni SAFE
Uni SAFE is for students who are preparing to leave the relative safety of home and are leaving the island to study. Uni SAFE focuses on common on/off campus problems, travel related situations and social issues such as going out & getting home safely. This course will teach you skills & awareness that will keep your children safer.
The Uni SAFE program teaches the following important self-protection principles & skills:
- Identify early warning signs of aggression or escalating conflict in social and community settings
- Develop practical situational awareness skills to anticipate and mitigate risk
- Communication skills for de-escalation
- Apply effective de-escalation and positive communication techniques in high-pressure situations
- Gain confidence in decision-making and when to involve security or authorities
